Woman Charged With Fourth DUI After Swerving All Over Roadway: Cops
Western Springs woman is having difficulty with widowhood, her attorney tells judge.

A Western Springs woman is charged with her fourth DUI after police received a call from a concerned citizen about a vehicle that was weaving all over the road, prosecutors said in court on Tuesday.
Ann Stafford, 45, appeared with her attorney before Cook County Judge Peter Felice in bond court on Tuesday.

Prosecutors said that someone called Western Springs police to request a well being check a driver that was swerving all over the roadway on Wolf Road on Aug. 23.
When police went to check on the situation, they spotted Stafford turning on to Prospect Avenue and watched as she hit a landscape retaining wall pulling into a driveway, according to the charges.

Police said they found an open can of alcohol in Staffordβs car, who they said had difficulty maintaining her balance when she got out of her vehicle.
Prosecutors said that Stafford has two other pending DUI cases.
Staffordβs attorney told the judge that she is a widow raising two teens and has had difficulty since her husbandβs death.
Judge Felice set bail at $100,000. As a special condition of bond, she is to be on electronic monitoring and be outfitted with an alcohol monitoring device.
