In the Facebook Live footage, the girl is seen being sexually assaulted by several boys. About 40 people viewed the video before its inappropriate content was reported to Facebook officials and removed from the social media network.
The teen was found the morning of March 21 a few blocks from her home. She was reunited with her mother before being taken to the hospital in good condition with injuries to her lip and cheeks, according to relatives.
Since the girl returned home, she and her relatives were threatened online and harassed by neighbors, causing the Cook County State's Attorney's Office to help the family relocate from its Lawndale neighborhood home.
