A man has been charged in the stabbing death of a Whitney Young High School student, police said.

CHICAGO — A 31-year-old man is accused of stabbing a student to death nearly a year ago in the East Garfield Park neighborhood, police said. The student, who was autistic, went to Whitney Young High School.
Darryl Ray has been charged with first degree murder in the stabbing death of Brandon Porter-Young, police said. DNA evidence linked Ray to the death of the student last February.
Porter-Young, 18, was found with multiple stab wounds to his upper body at a hotel in the 3000 block of West Jackson Boulevard, according to police. The student was pronounced dead at the scene.
