Man Charged In Fatal West Side Stabbing
Surveillance video led to an arrest on Sunday, police said.

CHICAGO — A man has been charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of a 58-year-old man in the Lawndale neighborhood last month, police said. Darius Mayze, 24, of the 1200 block of South Homan Avenue, was arrested Sunday in connection with three fatal stabbings, two of which remain under investigation, police said.
Mayze is accused of murdering 58-year-old Ronald Rockett in the 1200 block of South Christiana Avenue on Nov. 20, police said. Rockett was stabbed multiple times in the vestibule of a building around 3:20 p.m., according to police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said a surveillance video helped detectives make the arrest.

Mayze was scheduled to appear in bond court Wednesday.
The fatal stabbings of Jose Refugio Ceja, 64, and Ruby Humphrey, 57, remain under investigation, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Humphrey was stabbed in the 1000 block of South Kedzie on the morning of Nov. 13. Refugio Ceja was stabbed in the 1100 block of South Keeler in the evening of Nov. 15.
