12 Speeding Tickets Issued During Halloween Patrols In DuPage County

The DuPage County Sheriff's Office increased patrols between Oct. 16 and Oct. 31 in an effort to make the roads safer for Halloween.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — The DuPage County Sheriff's Office issued 12 speeding tickets during its recent traffic enforcement campaign, which took place in the days leading up to Halloween.

In total, sheriff's deputies doled out the following citations:

  • 12 speeding tickets
  • Three tickets for driving without insurance
  • One ticket for using an electronic device while driving
  • One ticket for failing to dim headlights
  • One ticket for no front license plate
  • One ticket for driving with expired registration
  • One ticket for improperly displayed license plates
  • One ticket for driving with one headlight
  • One ticket for driving with a suspended license
  • One ticket for possessing ammunition without a valid FOID card
  • One ticket for improperly tinted windows

The Halloween safety campaign involved increased patrols from Oct. 16 through Oct. 31, especially late at night. The sheriff's office's efforts were part of a statewide initiative funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
