3 Charged After Taxi Driver Stabbed, Robbed in Wheaton: Police

Wheaton police are asking anyone with information regarding the Monday afternoon robbery to contact detectives.

A 20-year-old man is accused of orchestrating a plot to rob a taxi driver in Wheaton after arranging to have an underage female perform a sex act on the 60-year-old victim, according to the Daily Herald.

The 60-year-old victim was stabbed during the armed robbery and three have now been charged in connection with the attack. Alix Santacruz, 20, of 1324 E. Roosevelt Road in Wheaton, is charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery, and Isaiah Davis, 20, of 1230 Elm St. in St. Charles, and Davontae Carr, 22, also of 1324 E. Roosevelt Road, are both charged with armed robbery, according to a Wheaton Police Department press release. 

All three are being held on a $300,000 bond, police said Wednesday.

Santacraz began communicating with the taxi driver last week, and on Monday, the driver picked up Santacruz and the underage girl at an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Roosevelt Road, and prior the the alleged sex act occurring,

Santacruz demanded to see the victim’s money, according to the Daily Herald.  Santacruz then allegedly pulled a knife on the driver, and when the driver fled, Carr and Davis are accused of jumping him, ripping his clothes and stealing his keys. 

Police were called to the scene of the robbery at about 1 p.m. on Monday. 

The victim was transported to Central DuPage Hospital and treated for a non-life threatening stab wound to the upper chest.
