According to Wheaton Police, there were more than 30 vehicle burglaries early Wednesday morning. One of the cars was stolen.

WHEATON, IL — More than 30 vehicle burglaries took place in Wheaton during the early morning hours of Wednesday, police said. A release from Wheaton Police said one car was stolen when the thief found a set of keys inside the vehicle. These incidents coincide with a spike in vehicle burglaries throughout Chicago's western suburbs.
As a result of the increase in vehicle burglaries, Wheaton Police are advising residents to lock their automobiles when unattended and to leave spare keys hidden if they are inside the car. Police are also urging residents not to leave valuables inside their vehicles. As an added measure, law enforcement suggest installing motion sensors or leaving exterior lights on in your home to deter thieves.
