38 Drivers Ticketed During Child Safety Week In DuPage County

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — DuPage County Sheriff's Office deputies doled out 38 tickets during Child Safety Week, four of which were related to child safety seat or seatbelt violations.

During the campaign, which ran Sept. 18 through Sept. 24, the following tickets and citations were given:

• One child safety seat citation
• Three seatbelt tickets
• 13 speeding tickets
• 10 tickets for driving an uninsured motor vehicle

DuPage County's campaign was part of a larger initiative in which 200 law enforcement agencies took part to raise awareness about proper child safety seat usage and crack down on violations. The campaign was funded in part by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
