Alternative Book Formats Explored at Winfield Library
Learn about Illinois Talking Books Program, which provides alternative book formats for those with physical or visual limitations.

Winfield Public Library will host the “Illinois Talking Books Program” on Feb. 22.
The program will explore resources available from Illinois Talking Book Outreach Center. The organization provides alternative book formats for people who cannot read due to a physical or visual limitation. Digital audio, braille books and magazines are some of the options for these targeted groups.
Illinois residents with physical or visual limitations are mailed materials in their chosen format and materials are free to mail back.

Talking Book programs are available nationwide through networks of libraries and service organizations administered by the Library of Congress through the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.
