Thousands Lost In 2nd Burglary On Same Block In Wheaton

Police say both burglaries took place in the 100 block of Christina Circle.

WHEATON, IL --- Police are investigating two home burglaries that took place on the same block within just over a week of each other. On Jan. 15, a resident of the block reported a loss of $10,000 during a burglary. On. Jan. 7, a would-be burglar was thwarted by a barking dog at another home in the 100 block of Christina Circle, according to a press release.

The victim of the first burglary attempt told police that a suspect opened the sliding door on their patio just after 10:30 p.m. The person who opened the door closed it after hearing the homeowner's dog bark, police said.

Police are reminding residents to keep their car and home doors locked and to call 911 if they witness any suspicious activity.
