Bartender Assaults Patron In Sickening 'Atrocity:' DuPage Sheriff
A West Chicago man is accused of carrying an intoxicated bar patron into his home and sexually assaulting her.

WEST CHICAGO, IL — A former West Chicago bartender has been charged with criminal sexual assault after he was accused of driving an unconscious patron to his home and sexually assaulting her in late February. Police say Timothy Ramirez, 43, of the West 200 block of Blair Street, was working at Caliendo's Restaurant and Bar in Winfield on Feb. 25, when the alleged incident took place.
According to police, the female customer was "highly intoxicated" when Ramirez put her in the backseat of his car and drove her to his house. Ramirez is accused of then carrying the woman into his home, putting her in his bed and sexually assaulting her.
Police say the woman regained consciousness while she was being sexually assaulted.

Police obtained a warrant for Ramirez's arrest Wednesday, and he was taken into custody Thursday night.
In a statement, DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said, "It is alleged that Mr. Ramirez took advantage of his victim’s condition to satisfy his sexual desires. These allegations are extremely disturbing and, proven true, Mr. Ramirez will find himself behind bars, unable to take advantage of vulnerable women, for a significant amount of time."

DuPage County Sheriff James Mendrick called the allegations an "atrocity" that "sickens" him. He added that he hopes that Ramirez's arrest will give the woman "closure and justice."
Ramirez is currently being held in DuPage County Jail on $300,000 bond. He is scheduled to be in court again on Nov. 14.
