Boil Order Lifted for West Liberty Ridge Customers
Repairs have been made to a water main in the West Liberty Ridge service area. Tests show water quality meets regulations now.

Illinois American Water has lifted the boil-water order issued to West Liberty Ridge customers on Oct. 15, 2015. Water quality tests confirm the water continues to meet all U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Safe Drinking Water Act standards and regulations.

It is no longer necessary for customers to boil their water before drinking or cooking.
During this boil order, Illinois American Water performed a series of tests to determine if the water met regulatory drinking water standards. Samples were taken from sites in the affected area and tests confirmed the water meets all state and federal requirements.

The boil water order was issued after a contractor working in the area caused a water main break to occur in the service area, which includes unincorporated areas near Wheaton, Winfield and Carol Stream.
“Our team wants to thank our customers for their patience as we worked to resolve the issue,” said Mike Smyth, Sr. Manager of Field Operations and Production. “We appreciate our customers understanding.”
