Living Last Supper is at First Presbyterian Church

Wheaton, Illinois, - First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, 715 N. Carlton, Wheaton.   Members of the greater Wheaton community are invited to Maundy Thursday worship on April 5th at the church, beginning at 7:30 pm.

The Maundy Thursday service (also "Holy Thursday" or "Shire Thursday"¹) commemorates Christ's Last Supper. The name of "Maundy" comes from the Latin word mandatum, meaning "command." This stems from Christ's words in John 13:34, "A new commandment I give unto you”

This year, back by request, members of the congregation, portraying Jesus and his Disciples, will re-enact this special meal with an encore presentation of In Remembrance-The Living Last Supper, which includes a live depiction of Leonardo DaVinci’s famous painting. After this re-enactment, all are welcome to partake of Holy Communion at the Lord’s Table.
