Living Last Supper is at First Presbyterian Church

Experience a new meaning to the last meal Jesus had with his disciples by attending Maundy Thursday worship at First Pres Wheaton on April 5.

Wheaton, Illinois, - First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, 715 N. Carlton, Wheaton.   Members of the greater Wheaton community are invited to Maundy Thursday worship on April 5th at the church, beginning at 7:30 pm.

The Maundy Thursday service (also "Holy Thursday" or "Shire Thursday"1) commemorates Christ's Last Supper. The name of "Maundy" comes from the Latin word mandatum, meaning "command." This stems from Christ's words in John 13:34, "A new commandment I give unto you”

This year, back by request, members of the congregation, portraying Jesus and his Disciples, will re-enact this special meal with an encore presentation of In Remembrance-The Living Last Supper, which includes a live depiction of Leonardo DaVinci’s famous painting. After this re-enactment, all are welcome to partake of Holy Communion at the Lord’s Table.
