Burglary, Theft, Identity Theft: Wheaton Police Blotter
Residents reported attempted burglaries, theft, and criminal damage to property.

WHEATON, IL — Wheaton residents reported an increased amount of criminal damage to property and theft or burglary in the past week, according to police records. The following items were taken from the Wheaton Police blotter from April 22 to April 29.
Residential Burglary
Police say a suspect or suspects tried to pry open the door to an apartment in the 2000 block of West Roosevelt Rd. The incident reportedly took place sometime between 10 a.m. on April 23 and 7:30 p.m. on April 24.

Theft
Sometime between April 7 and April 21, a men's Scwhinn mountain bike was stolen from a shared storage space in the 200 block of N. President St., police say.

In a separate incident, a victim told police more than $3,000 was stolen from a purse that had been left in a desk drawer in the 400 block of S. County Farm Rd. The theft took place sometime between April 26 and April 29.
Identity Theft
A resident in the 1400 block of Blackburn reported on April 10 that someone had used their credit card to make an unauthorized purchase.
On April 24, a resident in the 200 block of Arboretum Cir. told police that a suspect or suspects withdrew more than $4,000 from their bank account.
Criminal Damage To Government Supported Property
Sometime between 2 p.m. on April 28 and 11:15 a.m. on April 29, a suspect or suspects threw a brick through the window of a warming shelter at Northside Park.
Criminal Damage To Motor Vehicle
On April 17, a person told police their car's driver's side door had been scratched while it was parked in the Wheaton Center parking structure at 601 W. Liberty Dr.
On the morning of April 26, an unknown person or persons shoved broken sticks and twigs into the keyholes of a car that was parked at the DuPage Housing Authority, 711 E. Roosevelt Rd.
