Wheaton College invites the community to its annual Christmas Festival Concert entitled All Ye Faithful at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6. An additional matinee performance will be offered at 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 6.
All Ye Faithful invites audiences on a musical journey through the story of Christmas, framed by two unique renditions of the beloved hymn “O Come, All Ye Faithful.” Moving from the longing of Advent to the promise of peace and the joy of salvation, the program celebrates themes of hope and love. The Wheaton College choirs, orchestra, and band will fill Edman Chapel with a vibrant mix of carols, musical reflections, chamber music, and spoken word. Audiences are invited to lift their voices in song and share in a beloved Wheaton tradition that rejoices in the wonder of the season.
All three performances will take place at Edman Memorial Chapel, at 401 E Franklin St, Wheaton. Ticket sales will start at 12 p.m. on October 20. “Walk Today for Women Tomorrow”

P.E.O. is one of the oldest women's organizations in North America, a Philanthropic Educational Organization with more than a half million women in the US and Canada with a total of 5500 chapters in North America. One local Chapter in Wheaton, Chapter NC, is participating in the organization nationwide "Walk Today for Women Tomorrow" fundraiser.
The propose of this fundraiser is to create awareness and help fund scholastic grants, scholarships, awards and loans for women of all ages pursuing their educational goals.
The walk begins at the parking lot of the First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, 715 N. Carlton Ave., Wheaton, Illinois. There is a 20-, 30- or 40-minute mapped walk through the Wheaton neighborhood. The walk begins at 9:00 AM on July 13, 2026—if inclement weather, walk event will be held in the Ministry Center at First Pres—Wheaton. Participate by being a walker or sponsoring a walker with your donation.
Since its inception in 1869, P.E.O. has helped more than 125,000 women pursue their educational goals by providing over $435 million for this purpose.
All proceeds will help to fund the organization’s six International Projects, all classified as 501(c)(3) by the IRS. Outdoor concerts are held on Wheaton Public Library's West Plaza. While limited seating is provided, it is encouraged to bring chairs. Sanctuary in Trauma is excited to announce the opening of its first physical office in the Lisle Town Centre and invites the community to celebrate at an Open House on Saturday, July 18, from 1-3 pm at 1111 Burlington Avenue, Lisle, IL, Suite 110. Sanctuary in Trauma is a Christ-centered nonprofit ministry dedicated to walking alongside women who have experienced trauma, loss, and hardship. Through Biblical teaching, practical tools, support groups, and leader training, the ministry equips churches and communities to offer hope and healing rooted in the truth of Scripture.After years of serving women from homes, coffee shops, churches, and borrowed meeting spaces, this new office marks an important milestone in the ministry's continued growth. The space will provide a welcoming environment for meetings, volunteer collaboration, leadership training, and ministry operations as Sanctuary in Trauma expands its reach. "We are incredibly grateful for God's faithfulness in providing this space," said Executive Director Dana Kemp. "This office represents more than four walls—it is a reminder of the many people who have prayed, volunteered, given generously, and come alongside this ministry so that more women can experience hope in Christ. We are excited to expand our reach into Lisle and surrounding communities.” Community members, ministry partners, local leaders, and supporters are invited to stop by during the Open House to tour the office, meet the Sanctuary in Trauma team, learn more about the ministry's mission, and celebrate what God is doing through this next chapter. he cats we care for at St. Sophia’s come from many different places. The majority of the cats we help are those that are helpless, who have not experienced love or a home, stray, abused, and neglected cats. Primarily we work with high-volume/high-kill animal controls to save cats from needless euthanasia. Our largest partner is Chicago Animal Care and Control. Other ACs we partner with are Aurora, Joliet Township, DuPage, Herrin, Marion, Quincy, Tilton, Union, Jasper, and Whiting. St. Sophia’s also works with local Trap-Neuter-Return organizations. Trap-Neuter-Return (also known as TNR) is a method of humanely trapping unaltered feral cats, neutering them, and releasing them back to the same environment where they were originally found. TNR is promoted by proponents as a humane and more effective alternative for managing and reducing feral cat populations (compared to euthanasia). While most cats trapped are completely feral (wild, without any domestic socialization), some cats—often kittens, or even adults that have been well cared-for outdoors—can, and have, become socialized and adoptable. TNR organizations aren’t equipped to handle the “friendlies” that come in, so we step in to assist those cats looking for homes. Lastly, some of our cats are direct owner surrenders. Sometimes circumstances have it that people are unable to care for their cats due to moving, eviction, financial issues, death, allergies, etc. We accept these cats in when we have space and maintain a waiting list of those who need assistance.
