Car, Home Burglarized In Wheaton: Police

Police say a purse and several items of jewelry were stolen in the separate burglary incidents.

WHEATON, IL — Wheaton police are investigating a car burglary and a residential burglary that took place on different days in different parts of the city. The car was broken into on Feb. 22, police say, and the home was burglarized on Feb. 24.

Police say the car burglary took place in the 300 block of President St. sometime between 5:45 p.m. and 9:10 p.m. on Feb. 22. According to police, a purse was stolen from inside of the vehicle.

The Feb. 24 home burglary took place in the 2000 block of Creekside Dr. and was reported at 6 p.m. The resident told police that someone had broken into their home and stolen "numerous pieces of jewelry."
