Car, Motorcycle Stolen In String Of Burglaries In Wheaton: Cops

In one case, the burglars crawled through a window while the residents slept.

WHEATON, IL — Police in Wheaton are investigating three home burglaries that took place within days of one another. All of the incidents were reported between Aug. 21 and Aug. 26. Police say a Nissan Pathfinder was stolen during one of the burglaries and another burglary happened while the residents were sleeping inside their home.

According to police, the home in the 2900 block of Indiana was burglarized sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 1:45 a.m. on Aug. 21. The victims told police that the suspects climbed through their front window while they slept and stole two purses, a video game console, and video game accessories.

On Aug. 23, a suspect or suspects got into a locked garage in the 1300 block of Naperville. Once inside, they reportedly stole a motorcycle.

Police say a suspect or suspects cut a window screen to gain entry to a home in the 400 block of S. Lorraine sometime between 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 25 and 7:15 a.m. on Aug. 26. The victim told police a wallet and some car keys were stolen. The suspect(s) then stole a Nissan Pathfinder from the home and made unauthorized charges on the victim's credit card.
