WHEATON, IL — A car that was stolen from a home in Wheaton was found damaged in Chicago days later, police say.

The victim told police their Kia Soul was stolen from the parking lot outside their home in the 1700 block of 22nd Street. The theft took place sometime between Jan. 13 and Jan. 16.

Wheaton Deputy Police Chief P.J. Youker told Patch the car was found in Chicago on Jan. 18. According to the Wheaton police blotter, the car had sustained damage, but Youker said details about the extent of the damage were not available.
