Carol Stream Men Arrested for Armed Robbery at Wheaton Restaurant

Two Carol Stream men were arrested for an armed robbery that occurred at Brown's Chicken in unincorporated Wheaton Sunday night.

Two Carol Stream men have been arrested and charged with an armed robbery at Brown's Chicken, 1N058 Main St in unincorporated Wheaton that occurred Sunday night. 

Maherz Bouteldja, 20, and Michael Kiernan, 19, have both been charged with one count of Armed Robbery with a Firearm a Class X felony, according to a press release from the DuPage County Sheriff's Office.

At Around 10 p.m. Sunday, a Brown's Chicken employee was closing the store when Bouteldja and Kierman approached him, pointed a weapon at him, demanded all the money and then ran away with approximately $1,000, according to Dawn Domrose, Public Information Officer for the DuPage County Sheriff's Office. After a short investigation, and with the assistance of the Carol Stream Police Department and the Lombard Police Department K-9 Unit, both were arrested and charged.

Bouteldja and Kierman are currently being held in the DuPage County Jail. Bouteldja’s has a bond of $100,000 and Kierman’s bond has been set at $200,000.

They are scheduled to be in court at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Mar. 7.
