Celebrate Arbor Day on April 28 in Wheaton
Wheaton has been named a Tree City USA for three decades. Celebrate this legacy at Whittier Elementary on Arbor Day.

WHEATON, IL — For 31 years, the National Arbor Day Foundation has recognized Wheaton’s love of trees. On Friday, April 28, 2017, students at Whittier Elementary School will help celebrate Wheaton’s 31st year of being named a Tree City USA during Wheaton’s Arbor Day celebration. Students will help plant a tree on the school’s grounds with the City’s Forestry Division and Environmental Improvement Commission, and the Forestry Division will accept the City’s 31st consecutive Tree City USA award. The National Arbor Day Foundation gives this award to communities that meet its standards for having a high-quality tree program and a dedication to planting and caring for trees. This event will take place at 10 a.m. at Whittier Elementary School, 218 W. Park Ave. The community is welcome to help celebrate Arbor Day at this event.
