Windsor Park to host program on classic composer Joseph Haydn Nov. 11 at 6:30 p.m.

Windsor Park, a faith-based, not-for-profit continuing care retirement community administered by Covenant Retirement Communities, will host professors Jonathan Saylor, PhD, and Jeffrey Galbraith, PhD, as they present “Celebrating Creation: An Introduction to Haydn’s Masterpiece,” on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 6:30 p.m.

Saylor and Galbraith will share their passion for classic composer Joseph Haydn’s masterpiece, “The Creation,” which is an oratorio depicting and celebrating the creation of the world as described in the Book of Genesis and the poem “Paradise Lost.” Hear an excerpt from Haydn’s acclaimed composition, and listen as the pair discusses the preparation involved with the upcoming performance of “The Creation” as part of the Wheaton College Artist Series.

Galbraith is an assistant professor of English at Wheaton College, and an authority on 18th-century culture. Saylor is professor of music at Wheaton’s Conservatory of Music and possesses a vast knowledge of music history.
