Those who are running/walking on the path may use the sidewalks on the detour route. Bicyclists should either ride on the street for the detour route, or walk their bicycles on the sidewalk starting on Willow Avenue. The City prohibits biking on the sidewalks in the downtown area

We ask motorists to please use extra caution and look for bicyclists and pedestrians in this area.

The Downtown Streetscape Project will be improving the Illinois Prairie Path in this section to better align with the improvements happening in this area. This detour is expected to be in place for several months while a portion of the current path here is removed and replaced. We apologize for the inconvenience and ask for your cooperation in safely rerouting yourself around this work area.
