Clothes Dryer Sets Home On Fire: Wheaton Fire Department
A clothes dryer caught fire early Wednesday morning, causing a blaze at a home in the 1300 block of E. Illinois in Wheaton.

WHEATON, IL — Firefighters fought a blaze that engulfed a home in Wheaton early Wednesday, marking the city's second residential fire this week. Emergency crews responded to a report of a structure fire in the 1300 block of E. Illinois at approximately 1 a.m.
The fire had started in a clothes dryer, according to a release from the City of Wheaton. When fire crews arrived on the scene of the blaze, the flames had begun to engulf another room next to the laundry room. With the help of Wheaton police and nearby fire departments, Wheaton firefighters were able to put out the house fire in a matter of minutes.
The home was deemed uninhabitable due to extensive smoke damage as a result of the fire.
