Crowds Expected at Paper Shredding Event This Weekend in Wheaton

Traffic delays are possible near the event, which will be held in the commuter parking lot at Carlton Avenue and West Liberty Drive.

A paper shredding event in Wheaton this weekend is expected to draw crows.

The free paper-shredding event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Wheaton’s Commuter Parking Lot 9, near the intersection of Carlton Avenue and Liberty Drive. Cars will enter on Carlton Avenue and exit on Liberty Drive.

During this event, motorists may experience temporary traffic delays due to the volume of vehicles dropping off materials at this event and may choose to alter their travel route to avoid this area, city officials said. Lot #9 will be closed beginning at 6 a.m.

There will be uniformed Wheaton Police Officers directing traffic at the entrance and exits of Commuter Municipal Lot #9 at Carlton Avenue and West Liberty Drive.

There is a three-box limit for documents. Boxes should be about the size of standard copier paper/office boxes. Those dropping off paper must remove rubber bands, plastic page protectors, plastic bags, plastic file tabs and binders. However, staples and paper clips do not need to be removed.
