CUSD200 English Learner Educators Support Students in Writing Contest

​13 English Learner (EL) Elementary and Middle School educators from CUSD200 supported 23 EL students who placed in the 2017 ITBE Contest.

13 English Learner (EL) Elementary and Middle School educators from CUSD200 supported 23 EL students who placed in the 2017 Illinois Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages - Bilingual Education (ITBE) Elementary/Middle School Writing Contest. This is a writing contest for current EL students beginning in second grade in which the elementary students write a poetry entry and middle schoolers write an essay. There were a total of 221 entries and 23 of their students placed in different entry divisions at each grade level. Each student and their family attended an awards ceremony on February 24 at the Marriott Hotel in Naperville where they were officially recognized, received a prize and a certificate of achievement.
