Decrease In Coronavirus Cases, Hospitalizations In DuPage County
DuPage County has seen a dip in new coronavirus cases and hospitalizations, but the county's transmission risk is still labeled "high."
WHEATON, IL — DuPage County has seen a decrease in coronavirus cases and hospitalizations in the past week, according to a recent update from the county's health department. Public health officials attribute the dip in cases to preventive measures and continue to encourage masking, along with vaccinations for eligible residents.
“The decrease in COVID-19 case activity is encouraging and an early sign that the prevention actions we are taking are working,” DuPage County Health Department Executive Director Karen Ayala said in a news update.
Ayala went on, “I want to thank the municipalities, businesses, schools, community organizations, and residents who have done their part, including the more than 500,000 residents who have been fully vaccinated and all those who continue wearing a mask in indoor public settings."
