WHEATON, IL — A detour went into effect on Dorchester Avenue Thursday to accommodate crews who are doing work for Wheaton's Sanitary District. The temporary detour will allow workers to install new sewer mains as part of the sanitary district's ongoing <a href="https://patch.com/illinois/wheaton/part-dorchester-avenue-close-sewer-work" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Northside Interceptor Project</a>. During the work, drivers will be redirected between Lakeside Drive and Childs Street. It's expected that the current detour will be effective for about two weeks.

St. Barnabas is hosting the “Uncaged Art” exhibit, on loan to the Sanctuary Task Force by the Diocese of San Joaquin.&nbsp;The exhibit is free and open to the public this coming Friday, May 15th, from 10am - 12pm and 6pm - 7pm. It will also be open on Sunday, May 10th from 11:30am - 12:30pm.&nbsp;
“Uncaged Art” showcases artwork by children held in the&nbsp;<a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/tornillo-texas-tent-camp-housed-thousands-migrant-children/story?id=60319788" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Tornillo Detention Center</a>&nbsp;in Texas between June 2018 and January 2019.&nbsp;
Their resilient works of art were born&nbsp;of sadness while they stayed at the Tornillo immigrant detention center in El Paso, Texas, in 2018 and 2019. The artists, migrant children ages 13 to 17, were separated from their families and housed for nearly a year in the makeshift tent city.
When the detention center closed and officials began throwing out the artwork, a Catholic priest recovered 29 pieces, which comprise the exhibit.
The Uncaged Art exhibit now traveling in Chicago includes photos of the children's artwork. The originals are being kept safe at University of Texas at El Paso.
