Dozens Of Drivers Cited During Labor Day Crackdown In DuPage Co.

The DuPage County Sheriff's Office increased patrols between Aug. 20 and Sept. 7 as part of its Labor Day crackdown.

WHEATON, IL — The DuPage County Sheriff's Office doled out more than three dozen tickets for speeding, distracted driving and other traffic offenses during its Labor Day 2021 crackdown. No motorists were cited for impaired driving the enforcement campaign, which lasted from Aug. 20 through Sept. 7.

Sheriff's deputies made one misdemeanor arrest and issued tickets for the following violations:

  • 34 speeding violations
  • 2 distracted driving violations
  • 19 violations described as "other offenses"

The annual enforcement initiative is part of the statewide "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign.
