Drug Raid In Wheaton: Feds Seize 19 Kilos Of Coke, 4.5 Kilos of Heroin, One Pound Of Crack

WHEATON, IL — A Wheaton man and a Berwyn man were arrested Oct. 13 during a Boone County drug bust that also involved federal investigators raiding a Wheaton home and seizing several kilos of cocaine, heroin, and crack-cocaine. Efren Rodriguez-Diaz, 50, of Wheaton, and Roy A. Vazquez, 42, of Berwyn were each charged with a felony count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance during a sting that involved Wheaton police, DEA agents, Rockford Police, Crystal Lake police, and the Boone County/Belvidere Narcotic Unit and the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department.
The arrests were made after 2 kilograms of cocaine were allegedly seized from a car in the 2100 block of Gateway Ctr. in Belvidere, according to a post on the Boone County Sheriff Department's Facebook page. The post said investigators then seized one pound of crack-cocaine, 19 kilograms of cocaine, and 4.5 kilograms at a home in the 1600 block of Briarcliffe Blvd in Wheaton.
Both men are being held at the Boone County Jail on $5 million bond each. The sheriff's department noted that Rodriguez-Diaz and Vazquez may face additional charges.
