Drunk Driver Punched, Lunged At 4 Wheaton Cops: Report

Police say the man punched one officer in the face multiple times and attacked three others.

WHEATON, IL — A Wheaton man faces multiple felony charges after he allegedly lunged at, punched, and took elbows to four Wheaton police officers Saturday. Lucas Sage, 21, of the 1000 block of Briarbrook Dr., was charged with aggravated battery, aggravated resisting a police officer, DUI, and other charges in connection with the incident, Daily Herald reports.

Police were responding to a report of an impaired driver when they found Sage running after someone on foot in a parking lot not far from his home. When officers approached Sage, they say he lunged at them, punched one officer in the face multiple times, and struck other officers with his elbow.

Sage is currently being held in DuPage County Jail on $100,000 bond.
