WHEATON, IL — The DuPage County Health Department will reopen its community vaccination center on Wednesday to begin providing COVID-19 vaccine boosters to eligible residents, health officials announced.

The boosters, which will be administered at the DuPage County fairgrounds in Wheaton, are eligible to Pfizer vaccine recipients who completed their vaccination series at least six months ago, health officials said.

Residents are also eligible to get their first dose of the vaccines at the community vaccination center, which closed in July due to lower turnout. The Illinois Department of Health reports that 65 percent of DuPage County residents are fully vaccinated.
