DuPage County Coronavirus Update: 32 New Cases In 24 Hours

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — As of Monday, the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD) reports 8,716 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus and 445 deaths. The numbers include 32 new cases since Sunday, again reflecting a decrease in daily new cases compared to recent weeks.

County health officials said one coronavirus-related deaths was reported since Sunday. The DCHD did not include information about where those who died had been living or whether they had underlying conditions. They are:

  • A woman in her 100s

The news comes as cases in Illinois reach 137,224. The statewide death toll from coronavirus was at 6,671 as of Monday and the recovery rate was 94 percent, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

The county's system of reporting shows confirmed coronavirus cases in age groups from 0 through 9 years old to 80 and older. It also includes a breakdown of cases by municipality.

The DuPage County Coroner's Office directed Patch to the DuPage County Health Department for a breakdown of deaths by city, but the health department said it is not releasing that information as of press time.

According to the county's breakdown, the majority of cases have affected those between the ages of 40 and 70, but all age ranges had confirmed cases. Here is the age breakdown as of Monday evening.

  • 0-9 years old: 155
  • 10-19 years old: 421
  • 20-29 years old: 1,300
  • 30-39 years old: 1,400
  • 40-49 years old: 1,400
  • 50-59 years old: 1,500
  • 60-69 years old: 1,100
  • 70-79 years old: 630
  • 80 years old and older: 803
