DuPage County To Crack Down On Drunk Drivers For Halloween 2022
As Halloween approaches, the DuPage County Sheriff's Office is offering tips on how to stay safe on the road.
DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — The DuPage County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) will crack down on drunk drivers as Halloween approaches and is urging drivers and pedestrians to be cautious and practice safety measures.
The sheriff's office recommends the following tips as Halloween approaches:
- Have a sober friend drive you home, use a rideshare service or take public transportation
- Have a sober friend walk home with you if you're on foot and have been drinking
- Contact police if you spot an impaired driver on the road
- If you're with someone who has been drinking, do not let them drive home
“Alcohol and marijuana impair not your ability to drive safely, but also your decision-making
skills,” DCSO spokesperson Justin Kmitch said in a news release.
Kmitch added, "That’s why it's so important to know how you’ll get home before you leave for the party. Plan ahead to help keep yourself and others safe."
