DuPage County To Target Distracted Drivers In April
The DuPage County Sheriff's Office will increase patrols in April as part of a statewide campaign to crack down on distracted driving.
DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — The DuPage County Sheriff's Office will be on the lookout for distracted drivers throughout the month of April as part of a statewide campaign for Distracted Driving Awareness Month.
Over 200 law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois are increasing enforcement for the safety initiative. Officers will be issuing tickets to drivers who are spotted on their cellphones or texting while they drive.
“Texting while driving puts everyone on the road at risk by distracting a driver visually, manually and cognitively,” sheriff's office spokesperson Justin Kmitch said in a news release.
