DuPage County Wants Sustainable Design Projects From Students

Students can submit their project designs for a chance to win cash prizes.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL -- High School students in DuPage County are invited to submit their sustainable project ideas for the county's 13th Annual Sustainable Design Challenge. The challenge invites students to design construction and landscaping models that implement techniques that are environmentally sustainable.

The Design Challenge is open to up to 10 teams from each of the high schools in DuPage County. Students can submit projects in the following categories for a chance to win cash prizes:

Best Overall LEED Design ($500 prize)

Best Stormwater Management Design ($250 prize)

Best Energy Efficiency Design ($250 prize)

Students who participate will present their projects on April 16 to a panel of judges and members of the public. At the event, students will have a chance to tour the DuPage County campus to learn more about the county's own sustainability methods.
