DuPage Probation Officers To Protest For Fair Pay
Protesters plan to gather outside the DuPage County courthouse Tuesday at noon.
DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — Dozens of DuPage County probation officers will protest outside of the DuPage County Courthouse Tuesday to demand fair pay. In a press release from the officers' labor union, they say they are hoping the DuPage County Chief Judge will "strengthen public safety by settling a fair contract with decent wages now."
The demonstrators say 44 employees left to find other positions or new jobs in the past two years due to inadequate pay. They added that some probation officers have been forced to take on second jobs to get by.
The probation officers will organize outside of the DuPage County Courthouse, 505 County Farm Road, at noon.
