WHEATON, IL — The DuPage County Sheriff's Office held its first-ever car show Sunday and raised more than $5,000 to benefit Special Olympics Illinois. Nearly 130 coupes, trucks, and motorcycles were on display during the car show, including a 1953 Studebaker Hawk that won the People's Choice Trophy and a 1956 Chevy Nomad that earned the Sheriff's Choice Trophy.

Each car owner paid a $20 entry fee to participate and funds were also raised from souvenir t-shirts at the event.

"To be able to raise both awareness and significant donations during such a fun event, means a lot to all of us," DuPage County Sheriff James Mendrick said in a news release.
