Edward Hines Showroom Opens in Old Wheaton Lumberyard

Edward Hines Lumber opens building supply center and showroom at an old vacant lumberyard at 703 W. Wesley St. in downtown Wheaton.

Edward Hines Lumber sawed some lumber Wednesday in lieu of a ribbon cutting to celebrate its grand opening at 703 W. Wesley St. in downtown Wheaton.

Edward Hines Lumber, a subsidiary of US LBM Holdings, has leased the former site of Franklin Emery (F.E.) Wheaton Lumberyard and opened a full-service building supply center and showroom.

Pat Briody, former F.E. Wheaton General Manager of 28 years will manage the new lumberyard, according to a news release from Edward Hines.

“This new site will benefit the Wheaton area by redeveloping a longstanding property in our community, bring new tax revenue back to the city, as well as offer 20 new employment opportunities,” Briody said in a statement when the company announced the venture in February. “I am looking forward to servicing local home builders and contractors again from this location.”

Wheaton Mayor Michael Gresk said the addition of Edward Hines to Wheaton is, "a perfect fit."

The Edward Hines Wheaton Location will also have a window, door and cabinetry showroom and design center.

Edward Hines operates building supply centers in Hampshire and Alsip, a Millwork facility in Kirkland, and a Window, Door and Cabinetry showroom in Buffalo Grove.
