Burning Bush Gallery and Gary UMC Present "Storytelling Festival"

The Burning Bush Gallery and Gary United Methodist Church will host a Story-Telling Festival, “Let Me Tell You a Story,” from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, at the church.  Adults, youth and families with children are invited to this event which is free and open to the public.

The morning will feature:

Storytelling Tents (9:30 to noon) in the Wheaton

  • "I Remember When…” Grandparent storytellers
  • “Coming of Age” stories

Activity Alley (9:00 to noon) in the Commons

Workshops in the Chapel

  • 9:30--Teaching through Story: ways to use
    stories in classrooms
  • 10:15--How to Tell a Story: learn the basics of
    storytelling
  • 11:00--Families as Story Keepers: Parents and
    children sharing family stories

 

At noon there will be a celebration for all in the church chapel.  No registration is required for this event, which will be held at the church, 225 N. Main Street.

The Burning Bush Gallery is a ministry of the Gary United Methodist Church, offering art exhibits, music and other creative forms of spiritual expression. The mission of the Burning Bush Ministries is to offer programs that engage one in the creative endeavor, cultivate the spiritual life, encourage sacred conversations, promote growth in one’s faith journey and nurture those engaged in personal transformation.
