Lecture on Counterinsurgency

Dr. Andrew A. Wiest's lecture will be the last in a three-part series at the museum devoted to counterinsurgency.  Wiest will add context to the discussion by focusing on the history of this war strategy with particular emphasis on its application in Vietnam. Wiest directs the Center for the Study of War and Society at the University of Southern Mississippi, his alma mater. His most recent book, "Vietnam’s Forgotten Army: Heroism and Betrayal in the ARVN," won the Society for Military History’s Distinguished Book Award in 2009.
