Fatal Wheaton Crash Suspect Had Barbiturates In System, 'Wanted To Open It Up': Petition
The suspect of a fatal Wheaton crash tested positive for barbiturates, told cops his pedal was "all the way down," petition states.

WHEATON, IL — Prosecutors are petitioning a judge to raise bond to $2 million for the suspect of a fatal crash in Wheaton after additional evidence has emerged. The petition alleges that Brian Thunderkick, 62, of Warrenville had barbiturates in his system when his Camaro rammed into the back of Erika Villagomez's car at 135 mph and caused it to burst into flames. Villagomez, 23, of Elgin, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Thunderkick is currently being held at DuPage County Jail on $150,000 bond on reckless homicide charges related to the crash, which took place around 11 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Butterfield and Naperville Roads. Prosecutors believe this evidence could lead to additional charges in addition to increased bond. Some of the details in the petition are chilling. Prosecutors allege that evidence shows Villagomez was alive and trapped inside her car as the flames engulfed it, according to Daily Herald.
The petition also alleges that one officer filmed video evidence of the fiery accident and another struggled to restrain Thunderkick as he attempted to leave the scene of the crash, Daily Herald reports.
