Fire Badly Damages Illinois Youth Center In Warrenville
Firefighters were called 30W200 Ferry Rd. just after 2 a.m. for a blaze that left the juvenile detention center uninhabitable.
WARRENVILLE, IL — A fire tore through the Illinois Youth Center in Warrenville early Thursday, leaving the detention center uninhabitable.
Fire crews were called to 30W200 Ferry Rd. just after 2 a.m. for a report that a fire alarm had been activated. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke in a building that houses residents of the youth center.
Due to the nature of the fire, several nearby fire companies came to the scene to assist. Aid was given by crews from Naperville, North Aurora, West Chicago, Wheaton and Winfield.

No one was hurt during the blaze, the cause of which remains under investigation.
