Fire Destroys Garage, Damages Home In Wheaton
Police say the fire broke out around 6 p.m. Friday.

WHEATON, IL — A garage is destroyed and a home damaged after a fire broke out in Wheaton Friday. Emergency crews were dispatched to the home in the 200 block of South Summit. They arrived around 6 p.m. and found the home heavily covered in flames.
Fire officials say no one was injured in the fire and that most of the blaze was concentrated in a detached garage near the home. It took fire crews minutes to put out the flames, according to a news release from the City of Wheaton.
There was "significant damage" to the garage and the home had "minor damages," fire officials say.

The Wheaton Fire Department says the investigation in the cause of the fire is ongoing.
