Fire Engulfs Detached Garage In Wheaton, Damages Cars, Buildings
Fire officials say the blaze broke out in the 200 block of West Illinois Street Monday night.
WHEATON, IL — A home's detached garage was destroyed after a fire broke out Monday night in Wheaton. According to fire officials, the blaze was reported around 9 p.m. in the 200 block of West Illinois Street.
Fire officials say they got to the scene to find " a fully involved detached garage fire with a vehicle inside." Firefighters were able to get the flames under control within minutes of getting to the scene, but heat from the fire caused damage to "several adjoining structures and vehicles."
No one was injured in the blaze and all residents were able to return to their homes after the fire was extinguished. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
