
A Tuesday-night fire in the 700 block of South Gables in Wheaton sent a man to the hospital, according to a statement from the Wheaton Fire Department. The fire broke out in the kitchen at about 8:30 p.m.
The injured man is a construction worker who was remodeling the house. He was alone at the time. The worker was taken to a hospital for treatment of a minor injury. Solvents used to strip kitchen cabinets appeared to have caused the fire, according to the fire department. The flames were put out quickly
