Firefighters Extinguish Apartment Blaze In Wheaton
Officials say a fire broke out in an apartment building in the 400 block of North President Street Wednesday morning.

WHEATON, IL — A fire broke out in an apartment building in Wheaton Wednesday morning, according to an update from city officials.
Fire crews were called to the 400 block of North President Street for a report of heavy smoke and fire coming from a unit on the building's first floor. It took firefighters minutes to contain the blaze in the apartment, according to a press release.
All residents were able to evacuate safely and no one was hurt during the fire.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the cause of the fire had not been determined, but officials believe it was not suspicious. The unit was deemed uninhabitable, but no other units were impacted by the blaze.
