Firefighters Extinguish Garage Fire In Wheaton

WHEATON, IL — Fire crews extinguished a blaze that broke out in a garage in the 1200 block of Main Street in Wheaton Thursday morning.

Firefighters were called to the scene around 9:30 a.m. and arrived to find fire in the detached garage of a home. It took fire crews "minutes" to contain the blaze, according to a news release. No one was injured in the fire.

Fire officials ruled the cause of the fire to be accidental and the result of smoking materials that were not disposed of properly.
