Firefighters Extinguish Kitchen Fire In Wheaton

WHEATON, IL — Wheaton firefighters extinguished a blaze that broke out in the kitchen of a home in the 1800 block of Schillerstrom Saturday night.

Crews were called to the home around 11:30 p.m. after a fire was spotted in the back wall and kitchen. Firefighters were able to put the flames out quickly and all the residents evacuated safely. No injuries were reported.

After an investigation, it was ruled that the fire was not suspicious, but no cause was determined as of Sunday.

The residents were able to return to their home after the fire.
