Fireplace To Blame For Blaze That Displaced Wheaton Family: FD
The fire damaged the home extensively, officials say.

WHEATON, IL --- A Wheaton family has been displaced from their home after a fire ripped through the property Monday night. Officials say the fire, which was ruled as accidental, seems to have been started by the fireplace.
Firefighters were called to the scene in the 600 block of Franklin Street around 11:30 p.m. and arrived to find the home's chimney was consumed by "heavy fire," according to a press release. Officials say it took just 20 minutes to extinguish the flames and that no one was injured in the fire.
The fire reportedly caused "extensive exterior and interior damage" to the home and required the help of neighboring fire departments. The total estimated loss was not available at press time.
