Flash Flood Warning Issued for DuPage County

The warning is in effect until 10:30 p.m.

A flash flood warning has been issued for DuPage County through 10:30 p.m. Monday.

Doppler radar indicated a broken line of thunderstorms developing from the Western suburbs to the quad cities, according to the National Weather Service.

The flood warning has also been issued for Kane, central Cook, central DeKalb, Lee and southern Ogle counties.

Additional thunderstorms are expected to continue over the next couple hours. These storms are capable of producing one to two inches in less than an hour with isolated totals over three inches in the warning area.

“The intense rainfall rates will likely cause flash flooding to develop rapidly this evening,” according to the NWS. “Be especially cautious if traveling this evening. Do not drive into areas where water cover the roadway.”

A tornado warning was issued this evening for central Cook County but has since expired.
